SILK APRON instead of BEER STEINS

Loden-Dirndl "Pillersee" by Hammerschmid via Frankonia

EN| It's happening soon! Exactly 2 weeks to go until they yell 'O'zapft is!' here in Munich and the 'Wiesn' is about to beginn for the next 16 days. For you maybe better known as the Octoberfest, the world's biggest festival.
And for me it's going to be a very special year. After a few years of working as an Octoberfest waitress, I'mg going to change the heavy beer steins and sneakers against the elegant silk apron, fashionable bag and high heels. With mixed feelings. On one hand I'm very happy and relieved because how you may imagine it's one of the hardest jobs ever. On the other hand I'm also very sad because this feeling and all the wonderful people are just amazing to you as a waitress. A very big mistake that they are all drunken. Various people with different nationalities and unbelievable nice personalities are all around there. Big melancholy of mine! But also a big anticipation to get pampered again and being able to enjoy the great atmosphere.

As well as the anticipation to wear this amazing Dirndl called 'Pillersee' by 'Hammerschmid' via Frankonia (www.frankonia.de). This Dirndl is a divine with its loden camisole, its deer- and flower-printed skirt and its fine silky shining apron. It was love at first sight. Tradition meets elegance and modernity. In addition to that the perfect fitting choker and a lovely detailed Dirndl blouse by 'Krüger Dirndl', also via Frankonia. To jazz up the whole style I combined it with a leo printed flap-over bag by 'Patrizia Pepe' and plateau heels.

As a Munich girl it's pretty easy to get traditionally and qualitative valuable Dirndl just because it's the bavarian garb. But my experiences as an Octoberfest waitress showed me much more. It isn't easy to get this for the rest of the world. You can't believe what I've already seen there... it's above carnelval. Horrible!

This is the reason why I wanted to introduce you to this online shop: www.frankonia.de. Here is where you have a big choice of very well-known Dirndl labels and can't go wrong. You just have to know what length, cut and colour fits best to you.

Have fun at your Dirndl shopping! See you soon at the Octoberfest!
